First Soda Firing

These threee plates are from my first Soda firing.  What ease and fun,   I got a few thing to work on , but I'm pretty satisfied with the results.  We are going to fire again within the next 2 weeks and most of this work will be my sculpture work.  Thanks to Linda McFarland for all the information and support that she has given me , so that I can do this firing.

Thanks June, I really enjoyed opening this kiln load. I only had a couple of pieces that got trashed and a few that will need a refire, but overall I see some real potential. Heading back to the studio to reload the kiln before the Spruce Pine Potters Market.

That's very good for a first firing Ron! If you need any slip or glaze recipes I started a yahoo soda salt.
firing group and I've posted a lot of flashing slip and glaze recipes on there. You have to join because I moderate it to keep out spam. It's pretty inactive these days and you can opt out of any emails and just join and look at the files, messages, etc., when it suits you.

Please, I would love to be part of the group. Linda McFarland gave me some basic info, but I'm looking for further on results, test, and colors. I'd be happy to share what little I have about my firing(s). If you could send me a link, I'll get aboard this evening when I get back from the shop. Thank you.

You'll find glaze and slip recipes in the file folders on the left side of the main page. There are photos of some of the members pots and kilns in various folders.
Let me know if you have a problem.
